Senior Advisor to the VPTL and Lead for Accessibility in Learning Design & Systemwide Digital Learning Engagement

Ava Arndt, Ph.D., is the Senior Advisor to the VPTL and Lead for Accessibility in Learning Design & Systemwide Digital Learning Engagement at the UCLA Teaching and Learning Center. She works on developing new professional learning programs, digital learning resources, and TA training with a keen focus on accessibility and inclusion.

Ava has been working in teaching, learning and technology for more than 20 years. Prior to joining the TLC she served as Interim Director of Online Teaching and Learning (OTL) at UCLA where she lead a team of instructional designers and media production specialists to design, develop and produce online and hybrid courses and technology enhanced programs for campus. Before that she worked for the UC Office of the President to develop the UCOnline cross-campus program. She has taught at UC Irvine, Loyola Marymount University, and UCLA Extension.

Ava has a bachelor’s degree from UC Berkeley and a PhD in Literature from the University of London. When not on campus or in front of a computer she enjoys being outdoors in nature and traveling the world.
