Learning Spaces Liaison

Christopher Dutton is the Learning Spaces Liaison for the UCLA Teaching and Learning Center, where he works with other campus departments and stakeholders in the planning, development, and modernization of classrooms and learning spaces. Administratively, he helps with the management of the TLC’s departmental spaces.

He has three decades of experience at UCLA, primarily in classroom technology and audio-visual support for the undergraduate classes. He joined the Office of Instructional Development in 1994 and was the manager of its Audio Visual Services unit from 2005 to 2023. He has served twice on the board of directors for Drivers of Educational Technology, California Higher Education, initially as a regional director and then again on the executive committee. In 2021, he served as the inaugural chair of the classroom technology subcommittee for the UC Educational Technology Leadership Committee, addressing the return to in-person instruction.

Chris earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from UCLA. He was certified as a Technology Specialist (CTS) by InfoComm in 2011 and has participated in many of the university’s professional development and managerial programs. In his spare time, he is usually trying to learn new languages on Duolingo.
