Director of Educational Development Programs

Derisa Grant, Ph.D., is the Director of Educational Development Programs at the UCLA Teaching and Learning Center.

Derisa was previously an independent educational development consultant, working with organizations on projects as varied as redesigning curriculum, supporting anti-racist pedagogical practices, program evaluation, and creating equitable faculty hiring and promotion processes. In addition, Derisa served as an assistant teaching professor at the University of Southern California Rossier School of Education, as well as an associate director of faculty development at Stanford University.

Derisa holds a Ph.D. in the Sociology of Education from the Stanford University Graduate School of Education, a master’s degree in Communication from Stanford, a master’s degree in the Social Sciences from the University of Chicago, and a bachelor’s degree in Government from Harvard University.
