Elyse Gueidon is the Associate Director for Graduate Student Professional Development at the UCLA Teaching and Learning Center where she engages graduate students and postdoctoral scholars in programming and initiatives to further their professional development as equity-minded educators and future faculty members.
As a proud graduate of UCLA’s Ph.D. program in French and Francophone Studies, Elyse is deeply committed to helping graduate students in all disciplines thrive at and beyond UCLA. She has spent the past seven years working in graduate student services at UCLA across various departments, offices, centers, and student advocacy groups. Most recently, Elyse oversaw the conception, implementation, and assessment of professional development programming for the roughly 15,200 graduate students and postdoctoral scholars on campus in her role at Graduate Career Services. Elyse also brings a wealth of prior experience in instructional design and pedagogy training having served as a Teaching Assistant Consultant and Educational Development Fellow during her graduate studies.
Alongside her work at UCLA, Elyse is a longtime volunteer at Freedom House Detroit helping to provide wraparound services to individuals seeking humanitarian protections in the United States. In her free time, she enjoys learning new languages, dancing (mainly ballet and salsa) and playing video games.
