Associate Instructional Designer

Kate Schaller is an Associate Instructional Designer at the UCLA Teaching and Learning Center, where she collaborates with instructors, TAs, and staff across campus to (re)design their courses and course sites.

She joined UCLA in 2021 as an instructional designer on the LMS Transformation’s Academic Team. In that role, she redesigned courses migrated from CCLE to Bruin Learn, and developed course templates, trainings, and best practice guides. Prior to this, she taught undergraduate courses in introductory German and film studies at Vanderbilt University.

Kate earned bachelor’s degrees in Human Biology and German, and a master’s degree in German Studies from Michigan State University. She works remotely from Nashville, Tennessee, and enjoys hiking, traveling, and moviegoing.
