Valeria Dominguez, Ph.D., is a Postdoctoral Researcher for the Holistic Evaluation of Teaching (HET) Initiative at the UCLA Teaching and Learning Center. She is responsible for conducting program evaluation and research that informs the improvement of the HET initiative and disseminating findings.
Valeria has more than a decade of experience in higher education student affairs, governance, teaching, programmatic evaluation, mentorship, and research at the University of California. Her career began in student affairs at UC Riverside, and she later became a faculty member in the UCR School of Education. Valeria is a two-time Gardner Fellow at the UC Berkeley Center for Studies in Higher Education, two-time UC Center for Free Speech and Civic Engagement VOICE fellow, and a former National Advisory Board member for the UC National Center for Free Speech and Civic Engagement. She currently serves as a project specialist for the upcoming Center for Strategic and Inclusive Governance at UC Riverside and Michigan State University.
She received her Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration and Policy at the UC, Riverside, along with her M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration and Policy and bachelor’s degree in Sociology Law and Society. Her research explores programmatic evaluation, holistic university teaching practices, inclusive strategies for higher education governance and leadership, and civic engagement on university campuses.
