What is trauma and what impact does it have on the learning experiences of students? In this workshop, participants will learn about the cognitive impact of trauma and will explore principles of trauma-informed pedagogy, a teaching approach that supports the learning of all students. Participants will apply a trauma-informed approach in case studies, and will identify practices they may use in their own courses to cultivate compassionate and effective learning environments.

The event will be held on Thursday, May 1, 2025, 12pm-1pm in Powell 190. All instructors are invited. Light refreshments will be served. Please feel free to bring your own lunch.
