Course Accessibility Accelerator

April 13May 24 | Zoom and in-person sessions

Get support for developing digitally accessible instructional materials by participating in the Course Accessibility Accelerator. The program will walk UCLA instructors through a structured process for updating and creating materials for online, hybrid, and in-person courses. Participants must be instructors of record with a course assigned in the summer or fall quarters.

Program Format

The six-week program will provide hands-on training, individualized instructional design support, and access to UCLA’s accessibility tools and media workflows. TLC facilitators will guide the cohort as they design and update instructional materials, including webpages, documents, images, and media. Participants will complete a set of fully accessible course materials and an accessibility action plan for future courses aligned with university and federal standards.

The Course Accessibility Accelerator involves weekly Zoom meetings, in-person working sessions, and optional drop-in hours with instructional designers. Participants can expect to spend up to five hours per week meeting, updating course content, and revising assessments.

Support for Professional Development

Instructors who are selected to participate and meet all attendance requirements may be eligible to receive $500, payable to a research or professional development fund. Instructors will receive a certificate of completion documenting their efforts to make their digital course materials accessible. This program can be recorded in dossiers as evidence of efforts to improve teaching and promote inclusive excellence.

Application Timeline

Completed application form must be submitted by Friday, March 9, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. to be considered. Accepted applicants will be notified by March 13, 2026.
