UCLA Senior Survey Data Offers Insights from the Class of 2025

The UCLA Senior Survey provides insight into students’ academic and co-curricular experiences. Administered annually to graduating seniors across six of UCLA’s nine undergraduate degree-granting schools, it offers a snapshot of the current undergraduate experience. Survey findings inform efforts to enhance the student experience and advance the academic mission.

The UCLA Senior Survey is administered annually to graduating seniors across six of UCLA’s nine undergraduate degree-granting schools. Together, these schools enroll more than 85% of UCLA undergraduates.

Generative AI Use and Perspectives

The UCLA Class of 2025 Senior Survey introduced a new survey module that asked for perspectives and concerns regarding Generative AI (GenAI). Questions ranged from students’ use of GenAI for academic tasks to perspectives on GenAI’s role in education. Learn more about student perspectives on AI use.

Approximately 73% report using GenAI overall, and 33.6% note using the technology several times per year or per month, suggesting exploratory or task-specific use rather than routine integration into coursework. Additionally, 65% of seniors viewed GenAI as more helpful than harmful for learning, while 35% disagreed, indicating mixed but generally positive perceptions.
