Assembling Your Holistic Evaluation of Teaching Materials
The Holistic Evaluation of Teaching (HET) process helps instructors document and showcase their teaching practices using department-specific rubrics aligned with UCLA’s framework for excellent teaching. All UCLA Senate faculty, Adjunct faculty, and Academic Administrators in participating departments may use HET for personnel review. Â Review the video for details on the formal HET process, or view the Assembling your HET Materials one-pager.Â
Evaluating a Holistic Evaluation of Teaching CaseÂ
In the Holistic Evaluation of Teaching (HET) process, faculty use rubrics developed by their department to document their teaching practices. The rubrics’ structure allows faculty (instructors) to explain and document their teaching practices and enables a departmental colleague (evaluators) to conduct an evidence-based review. Review the video for details on the formal HET review process, or view the Evaluating a Holistic Evaluation of Teaching Case one-pager.Â
