Senior Survey
The UCLA Senior Survey provides insight into students’ academic and co-curricular experiences. Since 2006, the survey has been administered annually to graduating seniors in the UCLA College of Letters and Science; School of the Arts and Architecture; School of Theater, Film and Television; and Herb Alpert School of Music. Findings from the Senior Survey are used to improve the UCLA experience for future generations of Bruins.
Survey Instrument
The survey instrument consists of approximately 70 closed- and open-ended questions. Every year, students are asked to reflect on their UCLA experience, including academic experiences, student and campus life activities, and post-graduate plans.
Reporting
Annual reports are produced for each participating college or school. Additionally, reports are created by division and field for all major and minor programs with at least 15 survey respondents.
These reports are shared with members of the UCLA community, including deans and department chairs, the Academic Senate, Faculty Executive Committee, and Undergraduate Council. Findings from these reports offer faculty, staff, and administrators a better understanding of students experiences in specific academic units, and are used in academic program review.
General results from the UCLA College survey are available at http://www.college.ucla.edu/seniorsurvey/.
Customized Reports
The TLC’s Assessment of Student and Instructor Experience unit conducts analyses of Senior Survey data to accommodate the specific needs of campus partners (e.g., for grant writing, program evaluation, and curricular innovation) and to share notable findings with the larger research community.
