Supporting instructors as they explore innovative classroom practices is a key part of elevating teaching at UCLA. In response, the UCLA Teaching and Learning Center’s Holistic Evaluation of Teaching (HET) initiative is intended to help departments improve the way they evaluate teaching and help faculty implement excellent teaching practices. Kem Saichaie, Executive Director of the UCLA Teaching and Learning Center, Adrienne Lavine, Special Assistant to the Vice Provost for Teaching and Learning for HET, and Valeria Dominguez, Postdoctoral Researcher for HET, authored an article reflecting on the HET Initiative’s work to reform the teaching evaluation process across departments at UCLA.
