On Monday, May 18, the Teaching and Learning Center Student Experiences of Teaching shared this message via BruinPost.
Student Experiences of Teaching (SET) participation can now be incorporated directly into MyUCLA Gradebook. This new feature eliminates the need for instructors who offer extra credit or points for completing SET surveys to request participation roster reports from the Teaching and Learning Center (TLC). Instead, instructors can now create the item in Gradebook and SET survey completion will automatically sync from Explorance Blue, our course feedback platform. For step-by-step instructions, review the How-To Guide on SET Participation Points Integration for Gradebook.
Important Notes
- Participation points are released only after a minimum of 10 student responses.
- All responses remain anonymous in Blue.
- The SET participation item should be created in Gradebook after the survey period closes to ensure all eligible responses are captured. Please consult the SET survey schedule for official end dates.
Continuous Improvement
The TLC continues to improve and grow its SET resources and tools for instructors and TAs. This quarter’s full integration of SET participation with MyUCLA Gradebook follows the launch of question personalization during winter quarter. In fall 2025, we completed the transition of all units and departments to Explorance Blue. These advancements reflect an ongoing commitment to improving course feedback processes while reducing the administrative burden for instructors and TAs.
