In this moment of uncertainty for higher education, we recognize that departments need meaningful, strategic investment in teaching and learning more than ever. The TLC remains committed to supporting Goal 4 of the UCLA Strategic Plan by partnering with all members of our campus instructional community to help navigate challenges and continue to foster innovation and inclusive education.
Our Educational Innovation Grants program now includes Tier 4 Transformation Grants. This new level of funding includes:
Track 1 Planning Grants
Offer up to 10 awards in the amount of $10,000 each to support instructional teams as they engage in strategic conversations and early-stage planning efforts around teaching and learning.
These grants are designed to provide flexible resources that empower instructional teams to explore bold ideas.
Applications for Track 1 Planning Grants are due Friday, May 16.
Track 2 Implementation Grants
Provide up to $100,000 for departments to collaboratively pursue transformative educational innovations at the program or departmental level — two of which will be awarded this year.
Track 2 Implementation Grant proposals are due Friday, May 23.
To support instruction across campus, in addition to these grant opportunities, the TLC continues to offer a wide range of services and resources — including instructional design, educational development, media production, and professional learning opportunities for graduate students and postdoctoral scholars. We are here to collaborate, serve as thought partners, and champion educational innovation as we work together to strengthen and elevate teaching and learning at UCLA.
