Bringing Theory to Practice (BTtoP) Workshops on Equity and Inclusion in the Classroom

The Center for Education Innovation & Learning in the Sciences (CEILS) is collaborating with Professor Muriel McClendon, Associate Dean for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in the Division of Social Sciences, to sponsor a two-part workshop on equity and inclusion for all UCLA faculty and instructors. View the full invitation here.

Space is limited, so please RSVP by March 9, 2020. All UCLA faculty and instructors are invited to join this two-part workshop series.

Part I: Creating Equitable Learning Environments & Teaching Inclusively: In this first workshop, we will discuss barriers to student learning such as implicit bias, social identity threat, and microaggressions, and we will provide tools to help instructors overcome these barriers to more effectively reach and teach all students.

Part II: Creating Equitable Learning Environments & Teaching Inclusively (attendance at Part I is not a requisite): During this second workshop, we will help participants hone their skills in teaching inclusively. It will build on knowledge from the first workshop and introduce additional strategies for reaching and teaching all students.
