UCLA Covid guidelines strongly encourage the use of masks while indoors in public spaces.

Located in Powell Library, we circulate physical media and films to instructors, faculty and researchers for in-person teaching, as well as making available digital versions for use on approved Bruin Learn/ Canvas course websites.

Most of our titles can be streamed depending on legal restrictions, and we also acquire and receive new titles through our mini-grant program.

You can search our collection here: CATALOG. Please contact imlib@teaching.ucla.edu for more information and guidance.

As a convenience you may also be able to access needed films for free online through other options, including:

  • Kanopy – a campus service free to UCLA students and faculty via UCLA VPN
  • The Los Angeles Public Library also has Kanopy. Theirs is a slightly different curated collection with different films, and is free with a LAPL library card

The Instructional Media Collections and Services (IMCS) is the central resource for the collection and maintenance of instructional media.

The Instructional Media Collections and Services (IMCS) primarily serves faculty and departmental personnel who use media in the classroom. The IMCS houses and maintains several department and study center collections and features an ever growing collection of DVDs, videotapes, laserdiscs and films.
