COVID-19 Update Sept. 20, 2020
Please note that because Powell Library is closed until further notice, we are unable to circulate any media to instructors, faculty or researchers until the library reopens and in-person teaching resumes.
We are still digitizing and making available to stream most titles in our collection for online viewing by your students online. Most of our titles can be streamed to registered course websites, depending on legal restrictions. We also have a limited ability to acquire and receive new titles through our mini-grant program. Please contact email@example.com for information and guidance.
There are many other options to view films for free online, including:
- Kanopy – a campus service free to UCLA students and faculty via UCLA VPN)
- The Los Angeles Public Library also has Kanopy. This is a slightly different curated collection with different films, and is free with an LAPL library card
Finally, a useful search tool to find where a film might be available for streaming or rental here: https://www.justwatch.com/
We appreciate your understanding during this difficult period. Please feel free to contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information and guidance.
The Instructional Media Collections and Services (IMCS) is the central resource for the collection and maintenance of instructional media.
The Instructional Media Collections and Services (IMCS) primarily serves faculty and departmental personnel who use media in the classroom. The IMCS houses and maintains several department and study center collections and features an ever growing collection of DVDs, videotapes, laserdiscs and films.
