Faculty Panel: Teaching Through Collaborative Research Projects

November 3, 2021 @ 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm

Join the Center for the Advancement of Teaching and Undergraduate Research Center for the Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences for a panel discussion on Wednesday November 3 from 3:30-5pm Pacific Time via Zoom.

Teaching Through Collaborative Research Projects
In this panel discussion, faculty from History, the Digital Humanities, and the Labor Center will share their experiences with integrating collaborative research projects into their undergraduate courses, while highlighting the advantages and feasibility of student-driven, public-facing scholarship. These projects ask students to employ digital methods to visualize and disseminate data as a means for achieving their goals, from influencing public policy to fighting for social justice. Panelists will also share how they scaffold and assess this type of work, as well as how they manage group dynamics. This panel is co-sponsored by UCLA’s Undergraduate Research Center for the Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences (URC) and the Center for the Advancement of Teaching (CAT).
